Whats the difference between turbo style mufflers and chambered?

i know the internal construction of a chambered muffler means there are multiple chambers that the exhaust has to go through... and a straight through muffler such as a glpack is just a perforated tube surrounded by packing... but what is the internat construction of a trbo style muffler? what are some advantages and disadvantages to sound compared to others?
