Can you go to UGA for MED right after high school or do you have to PREMED first?

I want to become a doctor or surgeon, and I was wondering what you have to do? I also wanted to go to Emory but I actually don't know anything about colleges, because I don't have anyone to tell me about this stuff. I was wondering what I need to do to get into a good medical school so I can become either a surgeon or a doctor.
