Am I about to start AF or Pregnant?

Ok, This is a little long...in June I went to Dr & had tests & blood work done, also had a clear HSG- we've been TTC for almost 2 years. My cycle is very irregular. Here's my last years cycle lengths: 23,23,23,31,23,28,15,16,19,23,23,28 and I am currently on cycle day 23- I am unsure of what day I ovulated it felt like it could have been either the 16th or the 22nd or 23rd. My husband & I had the 22nd Multi x & the 23rd & the 24th. Since yesterday Cycle day 22 I have had very tender , I've broken out, cramps (like period cramps). I took a HPT today ( I knew it was way too soon, but I couldn't help it) & it was BFN...I also took a OPK (I know!) & there was a 2nd line, not as dark as the control line but definitely there. I don't even know how many DPO cause my cycle is so screwy! I could either be 14 DPO & just starting AF or I could have just ovulated last week and I am 8 DPO & could be Pregnant?? PLEASE HELP! What does everyone else think? I am so sick of this irregular Roller coaster, & there is no easy way for me to chart (my job is very demanding) & to be honest, I feel like as soon as I go out and get a BBT or anything else I am accepting that it's not going to be easy & how we have always hoped it would be- a surprise. Please any feedback would help!!
