Who knows the Grand Canyon?

Going on a trip. Leaving from San Bernardino to Grand Canyon at one point. Eventually going to Albuquerque. Map sites tell me to go N. on 15 - Vegas - Grand Canyon. Feel like I should take 40 - Flagstaff AZ - Grand Canyon. Is there a difference for sight seeing? Im really just doing it to say I did it. Any thoughts?
