Friend's husband killed in plane crash how to help?

Friend's husband was killed in a piper cub on the fourth of July in Johnson NE. The wing fell off as he did a flyby. He was taking the plane up for a test to see if he wanted to by it. Hear there are directives on those wings strut rusting out which is exactly what the ffa prelims are saying and familys struts parts given back to them by FFA Who is responsible Piper manufacuter?, person who didn't get the annual? Took her to attorney that will take 1/3 but nothing if they don't win case. My father was killed in a plane crash in Alaska. My mom got an attorney and they settled out of court against Lockeed, McDonald Douglas and since he was to a job along with 31 other pengers she got workmen's comp as he was a welder and rep for the pipefitter's local. Just want her to get a fair settlement. What can you trace from the wing number?? Please answer to sdamet@hotmail.com as yahoo is having trouble with my mailbox thanks
